      I had seen a spanish movie, Live Flesh, and was surprised to see it was based on a book by Ruth Rendell The plot was striking and I thought I would start with reading her first book, From Doon with Death A good mystery, a bit on the sloggy side but a quick read and now I think I ll shift to her recent books and see how she s matured as a writer.

      Not her best but a fast, easy mystery read Ending was not a surprise at least not to me and I m no detective Like the Father Archery character a flawed man but one who s honest about his flaws Hope there are books with him as a character.
